This product performs exactly as promised. We love it. Have had it for 5 years, use it on all of our breads, and it still looks like new. Well worth the money.

You will not regret purchasing this quality item MADE in the USA! Yes, I did hesitate about paying a little more than the one I bought elsewhere but you know what? You get what you pay for. The other bread slicer was returned because it was totally unusable (put together backwards so the slots didn't line up) and it was wobbly and sort of splintery. The BREAD PAL was perfectly aligned, stable and the wood is very smooth. I love it!

Great service got the item two days after ordering. It fits my 1 1/2 pound bread machine, and I love the width of the slices. Good product, the cost seems a little high but the quality is high also. Don't hesitate to buy if you want a life time bread slicer. Thumbs up!!! Michael in Hemet

When I read the dimensions of this product it said it was 6 1/4 inches wide it's not. It's 7" wide which is slightly too big for what I'm used to. Otherwise is a very good product.
Bread Pal writes: The inside dimension for the cutting area is 6 1/4" wide and the overall outside dimension is 7 1/2" wide.

Finally I can uniformly slice my homemade bread.

I have celiac disease and bake all my own bread but have always had difficulty slicing the loaves. Not any more! I really like this product and especially appreciate that I can fold it up so it doesn't take up much space.
I'll buy a second vertical support to put in front of the loaf, though, because it needs a little more help to keep it from slipping while slicing.
I'm recommending it to my fellow "celiacs."

I recently purchased a bread machine that makes beautiful loaves but I wanted to pre-slice to make it easier for my family to make sandwiches. This is a PERFECT tool for pre-slicing. I also purchased some plastic bread bags and some bread clips. I am enjoying not going to the bakers and knowing that my family is not eating dissolved human hair in our bread. .

This is a well made product made of beautiful wood (except for the base where the bread rests and the vertical support). Easy to use and efficient. The design is well thought out. I highly recommend this product.

As an engineer I appreciate well crafted machines. This is a well constructed product and I like how it folds up to take up less room. The material used as the slicing board seems pretty tough and durable. The wood is down right beautiful. The unit is fairly wide. It will accommodate large bread loafs but small loafs will need to be held against the guides on one side so the bread does not shift during slicing. My only significant criticism of the product is the flimsy piece of plastic that slides into the guides and acts as a stop for the bread. As another reviewer noted, it is easy to make it bow and add thickness to the slices. I suggest a thicker material for this. I would recommend this product to a friend.
Bread Pal writes: Thanks so much for the comments! The purpose of the plastic bread stop is only to line up the loaf for slicing, not to push the loaf against. Once loaf is placed in the slicer the stop may even be removed before cutting if desired.

Finally a quality made slicer not made out of plastic!
Yes making your own bread means spending a bit of money but don't skip on investing in a good bread slicer and this is it. For the quality and compact design it actually is reasonable. There a lot of plastic ones out there which are about hafe the price but it's not worth it. Love that my knife isn't cutting into plastic (see how long that holds up) if you take care of the bread pal it's going to last good investment!

The bread pal is an excellent way to slice bread. I use it at least once a week. I even bought one as a gift for my son who bought a bread machine.

Just started making bread again after many years, and the first time with a bread machine. This bread slicing guide is pretty cool. It takes a little getting used to, but when you get the hang of it, it works well. Nice wood, easy to store and I like that the cutting surface is polyethylene, not wood which wears out too fast. I also like that it is made in the USA. It was delivered in two days. The bread stop did flex on me at first, but when I don't push the bread against it too hard, it works fine. I recommend this product.

American made, and the care in detail is evident. Worth every penny to have a quality bread slicer for homemade breads. Great service and packaging shipped with care to a ranch on the edge of the Wild Horse Desert. May you have continued success with a great product.

This is my first attempt at using a bread slicer.
I have always sliced my bread by hand in the past and received criticisms on how crooked the slices were. Now I can boast of having even slices at whatever thickness I choose.
Thank you for introducing me to so simple an accesory.

I got my slicing guide. Great stuff! I expected it on Friday and got it on Wednesday - excellent service! Thanks! I need a longer knife though....

Great slicer. Finally able to cut a slice perfect. Great to have two sizes to slice. I prefer the thin slice for white and wheat bread. The thicker slice is good for bread like banana bread and ciinnamon and raisin bread.
Posted by Stuart Helfand on 28th Jun 2015
Easy to use but it takes some practice with the end guide as it flexes when you hold the bread in place.
Bread Pal writes: We love hearing comments from our customers! When slicing correctly, the bread stop will not flex. Forcing the loaf against the bread stop causes the stop to flex. Simply hold the loaf with out forcing it against the stop and slice. You can check out the video for proper use.

I ordered this for my wife. She is an avid bread baker and makes all kinds of bread for our family. She has had issues with getting even slices on some of the bread and this I think has fixed the frustration. It made the easy to cut loaves easier to cut and made those hard to cut loaves easy. I read countless reviews on Amazon about this and knock-off brands and I am very glad I purchased this for her. She loves it (her words).

Everything worked just as advertised. I have been cutting by eye for more than a year ... this is the first time for a perfect slice of bread. This device really works.

I love the Bread Pal. It makes slicing homemade bread so easy. I was always getting different thicknesses in the slices until I got the Bread Pal. I used a bread knife with a 10 1/4" blade and it worked pretty good. However, I would recommend using a 12" blade so you can make longer slice strokes. It also folds up and stores very nicely.

I reviewed a number of bread slicer guides and luckily stumbled on to the "Bread Pal". It is as everyone says: an extremely good product. It's easy to use and helps me slice consistent evenly slices of home baked fresh bread. I love it. Word of advice: You will need a 10 inch knife. I have an 8 inch knife. It works, but would be so much easier with a longer blade.

After extensive research, I purchased the Bread Pal as an Christmas present for myself - in fact, I got the package deal, with the bread knife (guaranteed lenth for the slots), plastic bags and very nice clips (3). I compared to much cheaper models but BP kept popping up as the best rated. And, the whole package, cost-wise, was more economical than just buying bread bags + shipping (with no ties!) from King Arthur. I made the decision that I wanted to start baking all my family's breads homemade, from dinner rolls to sandwich bread. But, I do a hack job cutting anything, and especially homemade wheat bread can be a pain to cut thin, uniform slices. Well I LOVE my Bread Pal, there is NO assembly required, a quick wipe down is all that is requires, the knife is very good (I don't want to spend $50 on a knife), and you get LOTS of bags. I have frozen my presliced loavesor 2 months at a time and they aren't freezer-burned. I love how neat and store-bought my loaves look, and I have eager fans of my bread who love it when I present them with a prettily bagged, presliced loaf of bread, ready for sandwiches. Much healthier than store-bought brands, and cost-saving over the long run. I heartily recommend making the $75 investment if you're a serious bread baker and it makes slicing a breeze.
