It's made with hardwood and hardwood faced materials and a high density polyethylene cutting surface. The spring loaded design is quick to set up (2-3 seconds) with absolutely no assembly required; and it folds up to a 2 inch height for compact storage. Here's how simple it is to use the Bread Pal.
The Bread Pal™ slices 1/2" and 3/8" pieces; however, slicing in every other slot produces extra thick slices for those homemade bread lovers that like thicker slices! Half of the knife guide slots are for 1/2 inch slices and the other half of the slots are for 3/8 inch slices. You simply place the loaf at the end that has the size you want. You can also slice in every other slot for even larger slices. The size would be double; for instance, if you are slicing every other 1/2 inch slot you will have a 1 inch piece. The Bread Pal's slightly wider cutting surface also allows for wider loaves. A 9 1/2 inch long bread knife or longer is required. Bread knife sold separately.

Nice uniform slices

Solves the problem of uneven thickness. Thick on one end and thin on the other. Also, My wife likes thin slices, I like mine a little thicker. Problem solved with Bread Pal.
So simple to fold up and stash it.

Using the bread pal is a great way to cut bread in even slices. Very handy to fold up for storage after the bread is sliced.

After purchasing a bread maker for my daughter, the next obvious question was, how to evenly slice the bread? I researched bread slicers and chose the bread pal. I was also giving this as a Christmas gift, but being November and wondering about the return policy, I contacted SierraBASE and they responded promptly, there is no problem returning the product, if need be. After receiving the bread pal in the mail I was very impressed by the quality. My daughter will love her gift and because it collapses for easy storage, it won't take up much space. (always a consideration) It was what I expected and more. I definitely wasn't disappointed and hope to buy one for myself in the future.
